Veteran Actor Sunil Dutt Death Anniversary
25th May 2005 was the day when we lost one of our veteran actors Sunil Dutt. Dutt was 76yrs. old when he left the world to rest in peace. He was not only an Indian actor but was a great director, producer, and a politician too.
Sunil Dutt was born in the Punjab province in Jhelum district at Khurd village on 6th June 1928 as Balraj Dutt. He started his career with Radio and later started his film career with Railway Platform in 1955.
In 1957, he shot to stardom with the film Mother India, in which he co-starred Nargis. During the shooting of the film, the set caught fire. It is said that Sunil Dutt saved Nargis’s life and there he won her love and a year later they both get married to each other.
He was one of the successful and major actors of the Hindi cinema. He gave many hit films like Sadhna, Sujata, Mujhe Jeene Do, Padosan, Gumraah, Waqt, Humraaz, Yaadein, Reshma Aur Shera, etc. He also directed and produced many films.
In 1981, he launched his son Sanjay Dutt’s career with Rocky, which was a huge hit. He won many Filmfare awards and honor’s for his films. Also in 1995, he won Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award for his 4 decades contribution to the film industry.
He last acted in Munna Bhai MBBS with his son in 2003. He died of Heart attack on 25th May 2005 at his residence in Mumbai. The entire film industry misses him and prays for him on his 12th Death Anniversary on 25th May. RIP Sunil Dutt.
